Our Why
The Foundation began with one stubborn question: “How do we keep Chase’s gift for making people feel noticed — alive?”
We answered by doing what he did best: gathering people, cheering for the kid at the edge of the group, and building spaces where everyone belongs.
Our Mission
The Chase Rideout Hyde Foundation honors the life and legacy of Chase — beloved son, brother, and friend — by creating spaces where every young person feels seen, valued, and empowered. Inspired by Chase’s boundless kindness, love for the underdog, and gift for bringing people together, we invest in initiatives that celebrate connection, contribution, and community.
Through programs in education, athletics, service, and mentorship — including basketball tournaments, camps, scholarships, and community projects — we continue Chase’s mission to ensure that no one is left out, and everyone has the chance to play, connect, and grow.
How We Work
We follow a three-step rhythm. Notice the kid one step outside the huddle — the person Chase would have spotted first. Gather friends, neighbors, and sponsors who care more about connection than credit. Build something lasting: an inclusive court, a scholarship, a Saturday service project the community owns.
What Makes Us Different
We aren’t a big national charity; we’re Chase’s friends and family. Decisions happen at our kitchen table, never a boardroom. Every project starts with the same two questions:
Does it include the kid most likely to be left out?
Would Chase smile if he saw it?
If the answer to both is yes, we’re in.
Underneath it all is a simple code: belonging matters more than winning, heart outranks ego, and showing up beats getting it perfect. Those convictions keep every dollar and hour pointed at one outcome: a day when someone who felt invisible suddenly knows they matte, because Chase would have made sure of it.
Leadership and Transparency
We’re run by Chase’s family, friends, coaches, and teammates — people who still set extra places at the table for him. More than 85 percent of every donated dollar goes straight to community-driven initiatives.
